Artemis: How it all began...
Artemis, Goddess of the hunt, moon, wild animals and childbirth began as an inherent leader. Instantaneously after her birth on the island of Ortygia, she assisted her mother Leto in the delivery of her twin brother Apollo.
Daughter of Zeus and the Titaness Leto, at the tender age of three, she requested six desires to her father:
As a young goddess, she chose to take the path of a huntress. Her abilities in this weren't gifted to her, though. It was after a long childhood spent practicing and perfecting aim with a bow and arrow did she become a hunting prodigy. As she got older, she began to follow the path that she painted out for herself. Rather than control cities or have abundant temples dedicated to her, she devoted herself to the mountains - where she ruled and resided. Maintaining a fierce attitude, from then to now, she has never let anything stand in her way. Through this tough exterior, there does lie a comlassionate heart. This is perhaps a portion of the reason why she became the goddess of childbirth as well. Along with the fact that she helped her own mother during delivery, she also felt pity for other women.
Bringing illness and healing are among her many abilities. This could often come in use during times of great disease or when evil plagued the Earth.
There was only one man who was ever able to infatuate Artemis enough to distract from her goals. However, after feeling the pain of losing him, she hardened her heart. By discovering the consequences of love, she has continued to keep her purity. This small diversion taught her the importance of her oaths, and how she must follow them for the years to come.
Artemis' unique childhood and process of overcoming various barriers over her immortal life has shaped her into an independant women with a great vision. She is strong, she is courageous and she is the one.

- To have numerous titles that differentiated her from her brother Apollo
- To be the light bringer
- To have sixty virgin nine-year-old daughters of Okeanos, to be her hunting companions
- To have twenty pure nymphs who would act as handmaidens, tending her dogs and bow while she rested
